Core Values

Our church core values are spiritual principles that guide the way we live, act and serve as followers of Christ.

The Glory of God

We value the glory of God as the ultimate goal in all things and thus seek to honor Him through faith and obedience in all aspects of life, relationship and service. (Romans 11:36; 1 Cor. 10:31)

We value the development of Christ-like character in us by depending on the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to make us like Christ. (2 Corinthians 3:17-18; John 17:17; Eph. 4:13)

We value prayer as the language of dependence on God and a means to nurture intimacy with Him and avail of His grace for every need. (Psalm 145:18; Hebrews 4:16)

The Gospel

We value the gospel of salvation in Christ by testifying to it under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in word, deed and conduct, and in the attitude of love, gentleness and respect toward others. (Acts 1:8; 1 Peter 3:15-16)

Caring for the Community

We value the welfare of other people by caring for them in their time of need through various community services as a way of sharing the love of Christ and testifying to His gospel. (Matthew 25:34-40; Galatians 2:10)

We value the grace of God, His unmerited kindness, as the basis of our acceptance by Him and seek to reflect the same grace by fostering an atmosphere of mutual acceptance, understanding, forgiveness and accountability with one another. (Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:12-14)

We value freedom in Christ that results in a devotion to God that is not coerced, but rather joy-filled and motivated by love, not by guilt– a freedom that is not a license to sin but a willingness to obey the will of God. (Galatians 5:1; 13)

We value brokenness– the acceptance of our spiritual poverty and helplessness that leads to a life of dependence and surrender toward God. (Psalm 34:18; Isaiah 57:15; Matthew 5:3)

We value the attitude of powerlessness that relinquishes the desire for power, prestige and entitlement and serves in Christ-like humility. (Mark 10:42-45; Philippians 2:3-8)

We value simplicity– a simple lifestyle that frees us from worry, materialism and ostentation so we can set our minds on Christ firmly and obey Him more fully; simplicity is also focusing on intimacy with God rather than activity, relying on the Spirit rather than strategies and seeing the hand of God even in the ordinary. (Mk. 12:30-32; Mat. 6:31-34; 2 Cor. 1:12)

We value generosity as a fruit of faith in God’s faithful provisions, an expression of gratitude for His goodness and an act of love toward others who are in need. (2 Corinthians 8:1-5; 9:6-15)

We value unity in our relationship and ministry by discerning the will of God together in prayer, becoming like-minded in doing God’s purposes, and being loving, respectful and forgiving toward each other. (Philippians 2:1-2; Ephesians 4:1-16)

We value rest as essential part of spirituality– a way prescribed by God to guard ourselves from the harmful effects of self-driven busyness and to bring about renewal and restoration for both the body and the soul. (Matthew 11:28-30)

We value partnership with other churches, institutions and individuals in the spirit of cooperation, minus the attitude of superiority, to accomplish purposes in harmony with the gospel. (Philippians 1:3-6)
